What should I avoid while taking Generic Actonel Risedronate?

 

Do not take any other medicines including vitamins, calcium, or antacids for at least 30 minutes after taking a generic Actonel Risedronate tablet. Do not lie down for at least 30 minutes after you take a generic Actonel Risedronate tablet.

 

Precautions

 

Tell your doctor your medical history, including: kidney conditions, low calcium levels (hypocalcemia), trouble swallowing, stomach or esophagus disorders (e.g., ulcers, esophagitis), or any allergies. Recommended Dosage for Generic Actonel Risedronate

 

In osteoporosis, the approved dose is one 5-milligram tablet once daily or one 35-milligram tablet once a week. If you are taking generic Actonel Risedronate with Calcium, the dose is one 35-milligram tablet taken once a week, and one calcium tablet taken each of the remaining six days of the week. To treat or prevent steroid-induced osteoporosis, take one 5-milligram tablet once a day. The suggested dose for Paget's disease is 30 milligrams once a day for two months. Certain individuals need a second 2-month course of therapy.

 

Usage

 

This medicine should be taken by mouth first thing in the morning. Do not eat or drink anything before you take this drug. Swallow the tablets with a full glass (6 to 8 fluid ounces) of plain water. Do not take the tablets with any other drink. Do not chew or crush the tablet. After taking this medicine, do not eat, drink, or take any other medicines or vitamins for at least 30 minutes. Stand or sit up for at least 30 minutes after you take this medicine; do not rest.
